UCLA’s English and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) departments unilaterally announced new policies limiting the hiring of individuals as TAs after 12 quarters of employment and 5 years of enrollment, respectively. The changes were made without providing notice or an opportunity to bargain over changes. UCLA also failed to provide a response to requested information about the policy changes in the English department.
