| Yearly Raises | The Professional Staff contract guarantees that everyone gets a raise every July from 2026 through 2029. Those raises are 5%, 5%, 4%, and 4%. |

| Wage Scale & Steps | Professional Staff have the right to bargain with UC management over a new wage scale starting in January 2027. That wage scale will have a minimum of 19 steps with a 2% increment between steps and will take years of service, local compensation, market rates, and equity into account. When the wage scale is established, Professional Staff who make less than the Step 1 rate will be raised to at least that rate and Professional Staff between steps will be moved to the nearest step not below their current pay rate. The January "Step" raises in this calculator assume movement through the wage scale based on years of service. Unrepresented staff are organizing to join their coworkers in UAW to build power in these negotiations and ensure more workers benefit from the new wage scale.
